VTCA Seeking Board Nominations

The Ides of March – New Year with New Board Members & Committee Positions

As we approach the Ides of March when Romans traditionally recognized a new year, it’s also time to seek nominations for VTCA’s Board of Directors and Committees. We have several Board members who have “settled their debts of service” with VTCA. Bringing in new Board members is vital to the sustainability of VTCA – new ideas, thoughts and perspectives are always appreciated and keep VTCA thinking about the future.
According to VTCA By-laws: Aggregate Producer Members, Contractor Members and Engineer Members elected to the Board of Directors will serve for a term of three (3) years and may serve successive terms. Associate Members elected to the Board of Directors will serve for a term of two (2) years, and may not serve successive terms.

If you or someone you know is interested in serving on VTCA’s Board of Directors, which meets about four times a year and provides guidance on a number of issues impacting VTCA, please reach out to Gordon@vtca.org or Nominating Committee Chairman, Jon Harman of Shirley Contracting.  Deadline to submit a notice of interest is March 15.

What is the Nominating Committee Looking For?

VTCA is always on the lookout for new volunteer leaders. VTCA’s leadership committees will discuss and submit suggestions of individuals who have been involved in several issues. The Nominating Committee looks at members serving on other Committees and have been engaged on various task forces and issues.  We are looking for members who want to be engaged in guiding VTCA through issues and helping VTCA grow. Only one member from any firm can serve on the board at any one time. The Board meeting locations rotate around the state and are open to any member who wants to attend.

Not yet ready for the Board but want to participate in another Committee?

VTCA is a powerful organization because the members are powerful doers.  We can always add more participation and support.  VTCA has over 20 Committees / Subcommittees.  From the newly developed Membership Committee to Workforce to DEI and Emerging Leaders – we have a spot for you or someone on your team.  Just reach out to one of the Program Managers to get the conversation started.
