VTCA Winter Meeting
VTCA is pleased to welcome you to Hotel Contessa in San Antonio, TX for the 2024 Winter Meeting on January 25-28, 2024.
San Antonio’s River Walk, Spanish colonial architecture, and parks and plazas make it one of America’s most picturesque cities. As one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, San Antonio offers modern convenience in the middle of an historic city with diverse culture, ethnic cuisine, and exciting attractions.

Top Chef Competition - Saturday, January 27, 2024 in conjunction with the Reception
Do you Guac What It Takes? The search began for VTCA’s Top Chef at the last Winter Meeting in Ponte Vedra where the Mountaineers came out on top. Do you have what it takes to get the title this year? Teams will see who can make the best guacamole in Texas and take home bragging rights that you guac what it takes! This event will be in conjunction with our closing dinner and reception.

Ghost Bus Tour - Friday, January 26, 2024 at 7:00 pm
Join us aboard a ghost bus tour and be transported into a world of ghostly happenings and terrifying histories. The ghost bus will drive you into your nightmares, taking in some of San Antonio’s most haunting sights along the way. We will visit the Most Haunted Hotel in Texas – The Menger, a historic cemetery, and other locations!
Important Notes:
- This tour gets on and off at sites and does involve some walking.
- Recommended for ages 13 and older only.
- Children 8 and under are NOT permitted on the Ghost Bus.

Sightseeing Segway Tour - Saturday, January 27 at 1:30 pm
A San Antonio Segway tour is the perfect way to see the Alamo City. The tour will visit numerous sights that could include the world-famous Alamo, Alamo Plaza, the famous and haunted Menger Hotel, the Tower of the Americas, the San Fernando Cathedral – the oldest cathedral in America, scenic Hemisfair Park built for the world’s fair, the gorgeous River Walk, and San Antonio’s La Villita art village.
Restrictions:
The minimum age is 14 years old, and the minimum weight requirement is 100 pounds. Maximum weight of 275 pounds. Pregnant guests, please refrain from participating. Guests should be able to climb stairs without assistance and stand for at least one hour. Guests will receive group Segway training as well as individual training. Guests will be provided with a helmet and must fill out a liability waiver form. Riders under 18 must have a parent sign the waiver and must have at least one parent or guardian be on tour with them.

Spouse and Guest River Cruise - Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:30 am
While delegates are in the session, spouses and guests can enjoy a scenic cruise. With a fleet of eco-friendly electric river boats in vibrant colors inspired by Mexican folk art, the river boats offer an unforgettable experience of the San Antonio River Walk that reflects the sights, wonders, and culture of a unique American city.

Afternoon River Cruise - Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm
Ride the river! A new experience in water transportation is here. Colorful, new barges ride the river through downtown, while drivers provide narrated tours and point out unique San Antonio landmarks. VTCA is providing two time slots for our attendees.
