M.J. O’Brien, Jr., President and CEO, has announced that Michael D. Greer, previously Vice President of Operations for the Salem Stone Corporation Group, assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer as of July 1, 2024. M.J. O’Brien, Jr. will retain certain duties for an unspecified future time to assist in a seamless transition.
O’Brien has guided the company through several major acquisitions and growth since 2000 when he assumed the Presidency. O’Brien is a 1962 graduate of Georgetown University and proudly served his country as a United States Naval Officer. His career has spanned mining and construction equipment sales and executive oversight of several aggregate operations, culminating in the last 30 years at Salem Stone.
Mike Greer has been actively engaged in the mining industry for over 35 years and has successfully mastered areas of increasing responsibility, profitability, production and employee development. He will bring vitality and experience to continue to elevate Salem Stone’s commitment to people, community, environment and diversity.
