Virginia Energy’s Mineral Mining Program and VTCA are accepting applications for the annual Virginia Mineral Mine Safety Awards. Since its inception in 2007, this very successful program has recognized 120 companies and 525 mineral miners for outstanding safety achievements in Virginia’s mineral mining industry.
VTCA has assembled resources to assist our members in complying with the recently issued Final Powered Haulage Rule – MSHA Safety Program for Surface Mobile Equipment.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is pleased to announce that Edward Ofori has been selected as the Virginia Division Administrator.
The Virginia Department of Energy’s Mineral Mining Program has revised its Operator Assistance Manual. The former one had become outdated and needed to be updated. The current manual is ready and now available to all mine operators, contractors, engineering firms, or anyone interested in best practices. 
The Virginia Department of Energy’s Mineral Mining Program has had numerous cases where mine operators failed to report accidents as required by the Mineral Mine Safety or did not report them in the timeframe established by the Virginia Safety and Health Regulations for Mineral Mining.
