The 2023 Annual Meeting is set for July 13-16 at the spectacular Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. This members only event is packed full of helpful sessions, an update on the Alliance, and family fun!
 
Virginia Primaries are now complete, and now we focus on who will win in November. 
 
Virginia is currently politically divided, and its unusual off-year legislative elections typically draw outsized national attention as a possible barometer of voter sentiment heading into the next year's midterm or presidential cycle.

VTCA’s CLC represents the interests of VTCA’s Contractor members through its own meetings and liaison with the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies. VTCA’s Contractor Leadership Committee has four new members joining the committee this July, along with three new Emerging Leaders.
The application window is now open for the 2023 VTCA Transportation Engineering Awards. Submissions for this annual award are due July 21, 2023.
Claude Daniel is a lifetime veteran of Virginia’s Asphalt Paving Industry. He began his career with VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) materials, then his first tenure at Lee Hy from 1962-1968, followed by the formation of Blakemore Construction.

VDOT’s Materials Division has issued a new memorandum, publishing four new Virginia Test Methods regarding performance testing of asphalt mixtures under the current Balanced Mix Design (BMD) initiative and implementation.
Roadway construction activities continue to ramp up on the Hampton segment of the Hampton Roads Express Lanes Network (HREL), a project designed to provide a safe and more reliable travel option for motorists across the region and help relieve congestion at key locations along Interstate 64, from west of Mallory Street to LaSalle Avenue.
