Delegate Alfonso Lopez, Chair of the Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committee joined VTCA and Vulcan Materials representatives, including Kip Addison, Vulcan Sales Manager and current VTCA President, for an in-depth tour of Vulcan Materials’ Graham Quarry. The Graham Quarry is one of the largest aggregate operations in the Commonwealth.

Wilson was an invaluable part of English Construction and its affiliates for 43 years. His dedication to his work and the company was so impactful that it cannot be measured in any reasonable way.

The company was founded by P. D. Brooks, Sr. in 1962, after a visit to California where he saw blinking lights on Type II barricades safely guiding vehicles through a construction project. He started the rental company upon his return to Virginia, originally constructing barricades in his basement.

The Virginia Department of Transportation has selected Queen Crittendon as the new division administrator of the VDOT Civil Rights Division.
Queen brings her extensive background in Civil Rights and Economic Development within the Transportation industry, including numerous positions at VDOT in Richmond and Hampton Roads and at the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
On December 12, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced a proposal to list the eastern hellbender as endangered throughout its range under the Endangered Species Act. Eastern hellbenders are found in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
