This year’s Wnet Leadership Summit, presented by FIS, was twice as special as we celebrated our 15-year anniversary and, at long last, gathered in-person to invest in ourselves, our career development, our teams and our financial future. I was honored to present the 2022 Wnet Board and President’s Advisory Council and be part of the Awards program where 19 individual, seven company and three chapter nominees were recognized for their commitment to the mission of Wnet. We also honored the 2020 award winners as the pandemic cancelled our event last year.

 

The high-energy conference included presentations by some of the most successful leaders in the global paytech ecosystem focusing on improving diversity, equity and inclusion within their companies and our industry. World-renowned athlete and motivational speaker Nancy Lieberman’s session, "Achievement and Peak Performance," underwritten by Fiserv, was not only inspiring, but also evoked laughter and tears as she shared personal and career experiences.

 

With many new experiences like the Online Silent Auction, Learning Labs and a special Wine Down, brought to you by FIS, our time was deep with networking and learning opportunities like no past event. Thank you to the attendees, speakers, volunteers, staff and sponsors of the 2021 Summit who made the investment in our annual conference that connects and inspires today's brightest leaders from the global paytech industry.

Summit Summary: Day 1, Afternoon

A cool, fall day welcomed our attendees to the beautiful Grand Hyatt in Buckhead. Old friends were reunited and new friends were made during pre-conference networking events like the Inclusion Groups Meet-Up, the New Member and First-Time Attendee Briefing and the Atlanta Chapter LinkUp. The Tech Bar and Charging Station, brought to you by Visa, was the main hub for the Day 1 Learning Lab Sessions, providing space to review, recharge and reconnect. And a philanthropy project with Girls Inc. offered a chance to share empowering words with young girls via video.

 

These engaging pre-conference activities prepped early arrivers for the main event: the 15th Anniversary Opening Night Celebration, brought to you by Global Payments. See next issue for Opening Night and Online Silent Auction highlights.
