LEMON’S LUMBER OPENS NEW ACE HARDWARE

September 13, 2012 (Chipman, NB) –
Lemon’s Lumber operated out of Carey Lemon’s yard for the past five years. Dealing mainly in lumber, demand grew such that they could no longer service their customers out of their 600 sq. ft. location.

The Lemons built a new location and adopted the ACE brand. The new location in Chipman Industrial Park is four times the size of the former location, with an additional 1,800 sq. ft. warehouse on five acres. The new ACE Hardware carries a wide range of building materials and hardware, and house, garage, shed, deck, camp and cottage plans are also available. The store also boasts a hunting section which carries ammunition, clothing and other hunting necessities.

Opening day sales were seven times the sales of the best day at their former location. "We were overwhelmed by the village’s support," commented Terry Lemon. Five hundred of the 1,200 residents attended the grand opening. "We were thrilled with the turnout. It was way beyond our expectations."
Dave Dingwell, Regional Sales Manager of ACE Hardware Stores in Atlantic Canada noted, "ACE Hardware works in tandem with TIM-BR MART. ACE is the largest banner in North America with over 4,700 stores, which translates into great buying power and in turn provides great prices for our customers."

In addition to huge discounts, customers were treated to give-aways, prizes and a barbecue. All proceeds from the barbecue went to help six-year-old Olivia Urquhart’s fight against cancer. The Timberkids Foundation matched all funds raised, and in total $5,060 was raised for Olivia’s fight.
Established in 2007, Lemon’s Lumber grew from humble beginnings selling lumber from a 600 sq. ft. location. Today, they have a 2,400 sq. ft. store and an 1,800 sq. ft. warehouse on five acres. Formerly a true independent, Lemon’s Lumber joined ACE to expand their product line and better serve their customers.
