Branch Management decided that they needed to fly Byron to Vancouver to interview him again. After they were done – they realized that Byron had sold them on his personality and his ability to develop relationships and they knew he’d fit in perfectly with our Canadian team. Byron was named our Salesman by Objective winner for 2011, only three (3) years after joining our company, this shows how rapidly he was successful at growing his business and customer base.
Through his time at SST Byron created long lasting relationships, not only with his fellow outside sales reps., but with branch staff and all his customers. He had a charm and caring nature that would instantly leave a lasting impression on anyone that met him and, of course, there was that smile – that endearing smile that was always present even through his challenges.
Byron has forever left a lasting impression on all those who he touched – we are all better for knowing him. Byron will always have a special place in all our hearts – he will be truly missed by all of us. Rest in peace Byron.
Byron is survived by his loving wife Caroline and his amazing children Jackson and Katherine as well as his siblings (their spouses), nieces, nephews, his extended family and many dear friends that have been touched by his friendship.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to Byron’s family and all his friends during this difficult time.

Stellar software helps dealers improve communication across all aspects of their Trus Joist® engineered lumber business, implement business rules around the management of their engineered lumber inventory, improve operational efficiency, and reduce material waste. The end result is a reduction in the cost to carry inventory. The latest update brings those benefits to inventory replenishment activities and those responsible for purchasing Trus Joist engineered lumber products.
"It’s clear the building industry has been affected by the challenges brought on by labor shortages and the frequent hiring and training of associates who are new to the building materials business," said Jim Shoemaker, Stellar software product manager. "The new features in Stellar give information access to newer, less experienced employees, which will help dealers manage their business efficiently with continuity and consistent performance, especially during times of employee transition."
Among the new features in Stellar Version 5.0:
- Inventory Replenishment gives greater visibility to what is on order and when it is expected to arrive by allowing purchasers to create and track purchase orders.
- Ability to configure inventory settings to provide alerts when materials should be ordered to reduce the likelihood of running out of materials.
- Cut Analysis Reports show material usage over a specified time period as well as the material needs for upcoming jobs.
Dealers interested in obtaining Stellar Version 5.0 should contact their local Weyerhaeuser sales representative or Weyerhaeuser Software Support at 800.833.9491 or Software@Weyerhaeuser.com.
