This week the WRLA arranged a student tour to three member facilities. Eighteen second-year Business students from NorQuest College visited Durabuilt Windows & Doors, Can-Cell Industries, and Trail Building Supplies. At Durabuilt, the focus of the tour was on lean manufacturing in the design gallery and manufacturing plant. At Can-Cell, the students toured the distribution facility and learned about what it means to keep products competitively priced while still providing exceptional service. Finally, the students went to Trail Building where they learned how high-tech, high performance, and incredible service make a business successful.
WRLA’s newest team member, Erin Lubinski, Member Services and Solutions Manager, joined the students on tour. Thank you to our members for taking the time and showing students your facilities, your work, and the incredible opportunities that exist within the LBM industry. We want to highlight the diversity of careers that are available in this industry. Thank you Durabuilt, Can-Cell, and Trail Building, and thank you to NorQuest College for partnering with us!
