Congratulations to the 2013 CCBO Award Winners!

In Palm Springs, twelve business officers received awards in four different categories. CCBO awards honor those individuals who have shown institutional excellence and professional development. These prestigious awards are given to business officers who have been nominated by presidents or colleagues, and selected as winners by their business officer peers.

Exemplary Practices Award

The Exemplary Practices Award recognizes outstanding, innovative, or collaborative practices in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Facilities, and others. After CCBO Awards Committee member Suzette Senn announced the three winners, David Browning spoke about El Centro College’s "Dart Free" program, their solution to the lack of a commuter parking lot on their campus.

Outstanding Business Officer (OBO) & Outstanding Chief Business Officer (OCBO) Awards

The Outstanding Business Officer and the Outstanding Chief Business Officer Awards honor those individuals with distinguished service to their institution and community. Awards Committee Member Libby Argiri recognized the award winners on Tuesday evening.

Darrell E. Roberts Emerging Professional Award

The Emerging Professional Award is a new award that identifies a future leader in higher education - someone possessing high potential to advance to leadership roles in positions of greater authority and responsibility in the field of higher education business, finance, and administration. Dr. Brenda M. Leonard invited Darrell Roberts, Retired Dean of CCBO Leadership Academy, to the stage to conduct the inaugural presentation of the new award.
