The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking a consultant to perform the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the Route 219 expressway between Salamanca and Peters Road in Ashford, where the expressway ends.
Hugh J. Dunne Jr., chairman of the Cattaraugus County Route 219 Committee, was glad to hear about the SEIS going forward, but also said he was "so frustrated" because of the time it might add to the project.
"The study is gong to take four years," he said.

Kellogg Co. will lay off 280 people in La Palma, effective July 29, as it shutters a distribution center, according to notices filed with the state. The company will also lay off 230 people in Roseville, effective Aug. 4.
The layoffs include the distribution center, sales and merchandising employees.
The Michigan-based company announced in February that it would move from direct-store delivery centers, like the one in La Palma, to a warehouse model. Warehouses are already used by Pringles and the rest of its North American business.

Registration is on target to open July 1, 2017. If you have attended an FSA conference in the last three years, you will receive an email invitation that will include your own unique voucher number. This number will be needed when you access the link within the email invitation to complete your conference registration.
Upon completion of your conference registration you will be provided with a link to secure your room at the conference hotel. This year room reservations will not be secured unless conference registration has been completed.
PLEASE NOTE: You will be able to register for the conference and select the Pay by Check option to complete payment at a later date (Payment must be received by February 1, 2018.) and access hotel registration.
The new system will also assist in monitoring the number of attendees per non-shipper and receiver companies.

American food producer Cargill Inc. is confident that the recent acquisition of Columbian chicken specialists Pollos El Bucanero will ensure continued growth in the Latin American Market.
The company is expected to invest up to $500 million over the next five years, after announcing the takeover for an undisclosed sum this month.
Before the deal was completed, Bucanero reportedly invested around $100 million to refurbish its production facilities and, according to the poultry producer's website, up to 9 million birds can be processed every 70 days.
