The NAFA Quebec Chapter was pleased to inform that their efforts, to bring a little joy and smiles to disadvantaged children during a Christmas party organized by the Maison Internationale de la Rive-Sud (MIRS), were a definite success. MIRS is a settlement organization for new immigrants and refugees.
During their Christmas dinner held on December 7, they offered the MIRS the following gifts and donations :
- Approximately forty gifts for children aged 2 to 11 years
- $ 830.00 collected in the draw for a pair hockey tickets offered by Rousseau Communication Automobile
- $ 150.00 offered by Sourène Chichmanian from Sourène Fleet Services
- Four tickets to the Disney on Ice show offered by Alain Primeau from UAP, Inc. and NAPA Canada
The members of the Executive Committee of NAFA Quebec wanted to express how extremely moved they were by such generosity, with hope that the donations and gifts made a difference during this holiday season for the refugee children to whom the gifts were given.
Pedro Miranda, p.g.c.a, SCMP, and Chair NAFA Québec Chapter sent his greetings to the rest of the NAFA community: "I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. May 2012 be filled with prosperity, health, joy, and of course, lots of love."
In other chapter news, the St. Louis Gateway Chapter meeting convened on December 14 at Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc, St. Louis, MO. The topic at hand was "The Future Is Yesterday: Collision Avoidance Systems." Chapter Chair Cal Kretsinger, CAFM, General Executive, Fleet Fueling Services for Ameren Energy Fuels & Services said, "Dan Kania from Ranken Technical College gave a great presentation on collision avoidance systems." Kretsinger said Kania was a good speaker because he was "...presenting the information at the Fleet Manager level, without getting too technical."
"After the presentation we gathered in the parking lot where Bill Kugel from Volvo demonstrated their collision warning system. Driving a 2012 Volvo, he accelerated toward a barrier and the car stopped itself without the driver touching the brake," Kretsinger said, adding that the presentation was, "very impressive."
Unfortunately, no photographs were taken during the event. |
